WORSHIP RETREAT WAS INSANELY FUN!!! simply awesome! and God was definitely right there at the Metro Lodge with us! at first when we read the letter we were like.. hey where is it held?oh.. No 1 Lorong 23 Geylang.. huh Geylang?!? hahaha but it was a great location with all the good food!!! all our meals were fantastic! thanks to our expert food hunters eugene and jerrold! haha my favourite was our supper! you tiao, tau huey and tau huey zui!! oh my goodness.. it was FANTASTIC!! sinful (referring to the oil-SOAKED you tiao)... but FANTASTIC! haha everyone just loved it!
goodness my sis and i woke up at 650!! today for christmas service! fortunately we had supersonic hearing and could hear the rumblings of the bus engine from round the bend, so we could chiong! for the bus and make it in decent time :) if it werent for my sister i think i wouldn't even have bothered to get off the bus. just stay slumped in my seat and continue sleeping. i was just sitting there stoning while waiting for the service to start. but once we starting singing songs we all snapped out of our zombie mode and got into the christmas mood once again! thanks liz steph and clarissa for the presents!!! :D as usual everyone was giving hugs, shaking hands and greeting each other with 1000 watt smiles on their faces! the lifts at the lobby of plaza sing were decorated with open season characters! this guy is my favourite!!! 'BUDDY...' hahah stick it to the man! :D and steph brought her friend cindy to join us today! so with the two of them, tiff, liz and stella, we went to mos burger for lunch and sat there for so long just talking about nonsense!! and i found out some remotely interesting things today.. hehehehe i can't believe we actually spent time in an arcade on christmas day! of all things to do on christmas! hahaha. liz and i shared one DDR player against tiff and we still got a D in the end!! hahah we sucked! well i was never that gd at ddr anyway. i feel more like im stomping away than anything else :P tiff and i didnt even get to play bishi bashi in the end! the buttons were there but the screen wasnt! hahaha after racing, shooting, walking around plaza sing, we finally decided to go home to our families to spend the rest of christmas! :D this was the first christmas i spent with so many friends from church! hahaha i feel so blessed! have a great christmas everyone and remember the Lord's love for us on this very special day!
Whee! i just returned from CANDLELIGHT service! my whole family was actually there! christmas brings a whole family together to one church at one time :D hahaha! stupid old mil made me go to orchard at like 430! even though the service only started at 8!! we just sat in starbucks while she wrote her christmas cards. but i forgive her cos she wrote MY christmas card! hahaha :D after eating WATERY PORRIDGE and paying $6.50 for that , we went to church at 7 to 'chope' seats! haha luckily we did! half the place was already filled and everyone was 'chope-ing' for everyone! LIZ and TIFF you better thank us! if not you guys would have been sitting on the floor or SQUASHED like SARDINES at the back! worse still, you guys would have been standing at the car park outside like those poor people who came too late.. hahaha

today i actually got my very own personal wake-up call!! at 1016am tang hui shan and liz called my house phone and hollered into my ear, screaming at me to "WAKE UP JIA!!" i was sooo dead tired from sleeping at 3 in the morning. this has got to stop mann. i've completely screwed up my internal clock!
As a result from sleeping at 330 am last night, I woke up at 12 today!! My attempts to spend my mornings fruitfully by diligently doing my homework all went down the drain. Ohwells I guess it’s a good thing cos nowadays I can’t seem to function without at least 8 hours of sleep. Plus I can’t even post anything yet since the html for all the different blogskins I tried seem to have some sort of html problem. It’s so frustrating! I can’t even get started properly. Darn the html... what does html even stand for!? I don’t know how to spot where the problem lies much less fix it.
alright this is my very first post ever! hahaha it was written yesterday but i only managed to put it up now! but here it is anyways...
retreat was really a fantastic time of bonding for the worship team even though about one-third of the people sadly couldnt make it. the icebreaker we played was one of the most challenging one i ever played!! we had to recite an ancestry line from the bible!! and there were like over 20 of us!! names like joseph and jacob was chicken feet.. but names like Zerubbabel, Manasseh and Rehoboam! it was so tough! the easiest was Zadok.. sounded like some creature from Star Wars. and i was Ahaz!! son to Jotham and father to Hezekiah :) then we had to play double whacko with those names!! it was chaotic!! everyone was so confused that ppl like eugene even killed the person he was supposed to protect!! and silly michael didnt do his job properly and i ended up having to do the forfeit with feli! hahaha but it was a whacked game of double whacko :D
besides time allocated for worship and surmon sessions we practically had all the time to play games among ourselves. abi brought all her interesting and intellectual games like Squint, Imaginiff and whats it called? erm.. Who's This? i think.. not sure. but they're all such fun games that involve a fair bit of SCREAMING and yelling!! haha but it mostly applies to Who's This? which abi and karen and so pro at!! it's a game where you have to let your team mates guess the name of a person. like if it's popeye you say the guy who eats spinach or something. but it's soo difficult when ppl, especially me, dont recognise any of the people's names!! but thats what makes it fun. like FRANK ZAPPO.. whoever he is!! i remember the round where we couldnt say anything but use actions only, we were like jabbing two fingers frantically and wildly in the air trying to say ' ZAP! ZAP!! ITS THE ZAPPO GUY!!' super hilarious :) and Squint was quite funny too!! we had to use these cards with various lines and patterns on them to attempt to form a certain picture. u need ALOT of IMAGINATION for this game. and there was this card with two small circles on it so immediately i went oooh pig nostrils!! and the funniest thing was when the game started, i partnered xuefeng and on our first try, we had to form NOSTRILS for them guess!! so we got so excited and scrambled for that one card with the two circles but no one knew why we got so frenzied since only xuefeng heard what i said about the nostrils!! until he finally put the card on his nose that they got it! haha it was soo stupid! but we got the points! Whoo! :D and in the end we got second! haha not bad not bad.
and i can proudly say that at least i've done a bit of exercise this week :D we played badminton at the small area outside the lodge. but that proved to be quite an unsuitable location since there was a roof right next to that narrow space. and people like michael and marcus constantly kept hitting the shuttlecock up to the roof!!! michael hit like 7 up in a row -.- while marcus took two days to get 10 up on the roof. hahaha well at least they could easily climb from the second level to the roof to retrieve them.. if not we'll all be dead for losing all the shuttlecocks! hahaha!
we spent so much time playing games it seriously helped bond all of us much more :D to the girls like karen feli denise joan kathleen and so on! haha egyptian rat race was fun!! well any game that involves screaming is always fun isnt it :D and MIL!! i cant believe we challenged each other to see who can spin non-stop for the longest!! that was INSANE!! i never SPUN like a maniac top out of control like that for so long my entire LIFE!!! and when we finally grabbed each other and starting swinging wildly in a circle, i got bruises on my butt from when we hurtled onto the ground ok!!! ouch my poor butt...
and of course, what adriel shared during the night was AWESOME! it was seriously fantastic! i shan't go into details about what jeremy adriel and sandy shared if not it'll go on forever, but what they said will always to firmly stuck in my head. i love the analogy jeremy gave about the empty cups. we are the empty cups, and the talents given to us by God is the water in the cup. It doesnt matter how much water God gave me or the person next to me, because what is most important it that ultimately, the water is meant for the owner, who is God, to drink. we are just the empty glasses used as a tool to serve God so we should never become complacent or find confidence in our talents because they are meant to serve God for His purpose and never for ourselves. this is a wonderful analogy that reminds me to humble and grateful to God for deciding to fill me with His gifts simply because He loves me. and all the more i should reciprocrate His love by serving Him with all my heart and strength!
adriel's almost-two-hour speech was worth all my backaches and buttaches from sitting and hunching on the ground for so long. in general, it showed us our place and authority as christians. from the beginning of times, God gave the power (dunamis in greek) and authority (exousia) to Man, then it went to Satan when Man fell, and then all the power in heaven and earth to Jesus when he was crucified on the cross. and the amazing thing is, Jesus chose to give us His power! we actually have the God-given power and authority as christians when we acknowledged Jesus as our saviour! but the thing is, Satan did not recognise that authority given to Jesus at the cross. whevever we sin, Satan then has control over us. but because we claim that authority, we have the ability to chase Satan and all the demons away because they are sitting on Jesus' authority when they simply don't have the rights too! the powerful thing is that once we claim on the authority and power that Jesus gave us, we can exert our rights as christians and conquer Satan! amazing isnt it that we can do that once we have the faith. and those disgusting demons have to listen cos obedience to authority is their weakness afterall.
yeah ok i've said a whole lot already. hahaha anyways it was truly meaningful and mind-boggling with alot of other things shared by others. and alot of other fun times we had that are just too many to jot down! but one impt thing is... BELOVED BAND WON the $100 swensens voucher!!! WHOO we rock!! $100 of ICE CREAM!! hahah yup the next quarter im in yangshen's band with gareth david shadrach joan jotum joshua marcus kathleen caleb charmaine xuefeng and yunhao!! Yes! Beloved is a WONDERFUL BAND!! <3! and it's gonna be a FANTASTIC 2007!

" Sunday, December 24, 2006IT'S CHRISTMAS EVE TODAY! everyone in church was all in the festive mood, exchanging gifts, cards and hugs, greeting each other with 'MERRY CHRISTMAS so-and so!!' I got cards, gifts and a big scrumptious brownie baked personally by mil!! but we ate half of it before i could get a decent picture of it :) thanks mil! and after half our small group (plus tiff) had lunch at pizza hut, i had to go home so we could go to my grandma's house! it's was raining slightly as my whole family cruised down the highway towards bedok. we were all so cosy in the car even though there was a disgusting pungent odour of prawns in our car!! thanks to my silly old mum. we were all being silly and high, talking away... well my dad was doing most of the talking actually :) i was wearing this blue shirt that i got from india that says 'i was born intelligent. but education ruined me'. haha and i wanted my sis to wear the matching one that says 'if being sexy is a crime, arrest me' but she refused to! hahah spoilsport! the first present i opened was from my uncle and auntie!! it was soooo pretty... it's this make-up kit called THE COLOUR WORKSHOP. and it was named that for a reason.. it was sooo.. COLOURFUL!! hahaha! it has 17 kinds of lip gloss, 15 colours of eyeshadows, 6 cream eyeshadows and 8 brush powders and applicators. and although i have ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE AT ALL on how to put on make-up.. it's still so pretty! hahaha i will LEARN and find a use for it soon :D i got this cute pig stuff toy that freaked me out when i squashed it to my face and it SQUEAKED! hahaha and my grandma gave me money cos she said she didn't know what to buy :D
ooh... look at the PRETTY COLOURS... :D haha! i will learn how to use make-up properly one day!
oh christmas tree... ohh christmas tree... if you fall down don't FALL ON ME!it was so fun playing with my 5 and 7 year old cousins! one is so in love with hello kitty and she finds everything so hilarious, while the other is already some computer genius at the age of 7, glued to his precious computer half the time. hahaha but they are so CUTE i wanna SQUISH their CHUBBY FACES! we played like a million games, took pictures, ate log cake, played with a rabbit and screamed and squealed. But we didnt stay for the GINGERBREAD HOUSE!!! hahah ohwells it was too pretty to gobble up anyways. anyway im not complaining that we left at 930, i have to wake up at 645 tmr to get to church early for christmas service! need sleep...
we played MONOPOLY, DISNEY EDITION for like 2o mins till their attention turned somewhere else... hahah typical little kids. attention spans of a squirrel :D

with MIL TIFF AND LIZZY!!! the rhythm ministry was so cool! next time im gonna join the rhythm ministry and bang along with them! even if it means i have to wear those tribal-looking outfits. so fun! pastor alvin chan gave the candlelight message about the meaning of christmas, and we attempted to sing so many hymns we werent familiar with!and of course the most fun part was LIGHTING THE CANDLES!! they switched off all the lights and we were almost in complete darkness. then the ushers started to pass the flame on, people were passing the flame on to one another, and soon the whole place was lit up!! such a pretty sight! :D apparently i poked my candle up the base of the cup the wrong way and the WAX so cunningly trickled down when i wasn't looking and BURNT my fingers! haha well it didnt really hurt. im just exaggerating. on the contrary it felt nice and warm, like the flame :D the funniest was my DAD! he was so engrossed with singing the hymn, his booming voice so loud among the other voices, and his paper cup suddenly caught fire from the flame and one-quarter of his cup went up in smoke, literally! haha he's so silly sometimes.
this little light of mine! im gonna let it shine! let it shine, let it shine, let it SHINE!!!!the last time i went for candlelight in wesley was when i was like 5 or something. so i always thought we light up the candles to get into the christmas mood, and we could all be like the pretty shiny ornaments on the christmas tree! haha but i guess not :D we light the candle to symbolize the Morning Star that the wise men followed. it signifies how we will persevere in following the light through pain and joy, and even if other people call us fools we will gladly be 'fools' like those wise men, and continue to follow the Morning Star for Christ! something like that :D
SI-EYE-LENT NIGHT... HO-OH-LY NIGHT....after the whole service we went for supper at chinatown something something market? i dunno. but practically all the stalls with the good food had already closed for the day. nevertheless, there was CARROT CAKE! hahaha and on the way home my whole family actually had a very engaging conversation/debate about today's message, the meaning of Christmas, what it means to be 'saved' and all kinds of different perspectives on various topics. WOW. my mummy and sis are so knowledgeable. i love it whenever we start talking about all these and my mummy suddenly starts talking a whole lot that she churned out from bible study many years ago :D so impressive. and i could only give my two cents worth here and there. even my bro was so cute. asking all kinds of weird questions that were.. intellectual to some extend. hahaha but we came to a conclusion that some things just cannot be comprehended. Like our mind trying to figure our mind out. 
min looks kinda spooky if u just keep staring at her. and cute little piggy there claims he doesnt know how to smile. poor chap :)and when i came home, all jolly and cheerful from today's events, i found 3 christmas cards on my table, posted to me!! it just made my day even better!!! hahaha thank you STACE JUN and LIZ!! love u guys!can't wait for tmr's christmas eve service at ym! we can all celebrate christmas eve together!! (and then go shopping afterwards with my mummy... hehehe) I've finally found a reason for livingIt's in giving every part of my heart to Him... " gradually, but reluctantly, i dragged myself out of bed and stumbled into the toilet to brush up. after the whole usual morning process, i finally met liz tang and zhimin at venezia!! i hadn't seen tang and zhimin for what seemed like eternity! too bad the lazy netballers didnt wanna join us. i havent seen bush jac and jun for so long too. and stupid bush keeps blaming me that we havent gone out this hol!the most HILARIOUS thing happened at venezia when liz was proudly showing us her newly-learnt 'dance'. she was like rocking to and fro pumping her fists downwards, going 'sexbomb! sexbomb!' and simply because it was liz doing it, it made it like a hundred times funnier! so we dared her to go to the open space in the middle of guthrie to do her 'dance'. for five dollars, she had to do that weird rocking thing five times and scream sexbomb! so that we could hear it from inside venezia. and liz, thinking she was so brave and all, pompously agreed and went out. so she stood in the middle of guthrie, ready to go! then suddenly she chickened out and kept stalling for time, hoping that all the people outside cold storage would suddenly just vanish so they won't see her act all retarted!

there's a ultra-HILARIOUS VIDEO of liz dancing and acting all stupid! but i can't put it up! uggh :(the funniest part was that this cute little boy outside cold storage, kept glaring at liz and scrunching up his face in utter disgust of this insane freaky girl standing in the middle of guthrie acting all weird and suspicious. hahaha he was so cute!! he just kept making funny faces at her! well anyway liz was obviously too scared to humiliate herself in public and didnt accomplish her dare in the end. so we just went back to school for our study party!! hahaha i love saying that.. study party!! :Dhahaha there's the cute little boy! he was still giving liz weird looks as he was leaving! :)
but due to my lack of sleep, i was kinda dazed when we finally sat down at the benches besides the new hideous looking lockers. i kept catching myself stoning so much that my eyes were hurting from being so dry. i had to blink so hard to get rid of the painful prickly feeling in my eyes. and i actually fell asleep for 40 mins on the bench while tang and liz finished a whole zhou ji each!!! and i have no idea how many embarrasing pics liz took of me while i was stoning and sleeping!!

Today I carried my spankin' new tennis bag for training! (the black white and lime green Wilson one that EVERYONE has now. But it’s ok, I still like it) I can’t believe we actually had a full 2 hours training today! It’s definitely considered a MIRACLE since every single time HANNAH the JINX comes for training with me at coach’s place it POURS like mad. Every. Single. Time. Without fail. Hahaha so it’s really amazing how we actually got to train for 2 hours. Congrats on putting your jinx history behind you hannah! Oh and coach didn’t even make any comments about your nails! Must have something to do with his weird orange shirt.
zhimin finally helped me to get my blogskin up! thanks zhimin! i have seen the light... hahaha. this one is quite plain... but nevermind, still testing out :) will get better at all these.

Ok this is seriously quite intriguing; what a single moment’s spurt of emotion can do to you! Since sec 1 I was like, ok I will never ever tempt myself into getting a blog.. It’s simply time-consuming and you shall not get yourselves into such things… And here I am, at 2! In the morning! Creating a blog! Queer I tell you. Go figure.
Well since I promised some sort of a tribute to LIZ ONG! Here it is! :) Seriously lizzo, I have no idea why. It must have been because I nearly died of hysteria laughing at your super duper funny posts and suddenly I was like, ok it’s really quite fun to have a blog! Why keep all the significant and funny moments in your own little memory box when you can write it all down!
It’s no wonder I always forget something that happened two weeks ago and when somebody reminds me of it I’m usually like ‘huh!? When did that happen!?’ for the first few nanoseconds. Yeah so anyways, it’s all thanks to liz’s contagious influence that actually got me started on a blog at 2 plus in the morning!!! Hahaha I’ll see whether or not to thank you later on liz.
So for all the lucky few whom I happened to spend time with on the very day I created this blog… you can have honours of being on my FIRST POST! Hahaha well…
At the indecent hour of 8 this morning, I had to drag myself out of bed to go for a stupid CC meeting. Nevertheless it was so fun seeing the CC after like... 4-5 weeks! Well half the CC anyways. Namely char, pam, amanda and hui!! Well I have nothing to say but sorry manda!! We can’t help but constantly sidetrack from the meeting’s agenda there’s just too much to talk about! Seriously amanda, just bonk us on the head when we aren’t paying attention to you and keep rattling on and on…
After rushing home in a cab to drop off the troublesome blazer, I went to cine to meet the old ‘sec one gang’! Cos ame is back from Australia!! Whoo! Almost all of us were there except silly old stace. It felt exactly like in sec one when we were all still so close to each other and goofing around. Except now we’re like older, probably fatter and stinky ame had to immigrate to Australia. But today was really loads of fun guys! Thanks mari, jia en, becky and ame! And seriously ame, we just don’t like those mint pods ok! Hahaha thanks for all the yummy stuff you brought back :) milk flavouring STRAWS!! hahaha

Tsk tsk impatient mil… Patience is a virtue! Hahaha then next she tempted me into eating fried mars bars even though I can just feel myself becoming fatter and fatter each day! And we didn’t even buy a bag in the end mil! All that endless walking and walking for like… 3 and a half hours!! Hahaha that was fun, but tiring. I needed a new pair of knees. Seriously mil, you’re one of the few who can stop me from buying stuff on impulse. Let me know when you finally decide to go buy a bag with me! Hahaha!
And yang xuan! You interrupted me while I was watching my movie! Hahaha but welcome back from korea! Made me so jealous going on about your skiing trip! I wanna go skiing too! Hey si! Even though ur like in L.A right now, you promised you’d go skiing with me when are old enough to go on a holiday ourselves! Hahaha yes and yang xuan was trying to sound knowledgeable with his newly discovered Korean words :) haha which he didn’t even know the correct spelling for. According to him ‘agashi mujimuji yibayo’ means ‘girl is very very pretty’. Tsk tsk, I bet you were wolf whistling to all the pretty Korean girls right?! Hahaha don’t act all shocked and innocent. :) ahem.. and i shan't mention how you thought someone got a *ahem* on one *ahem* only.. hahaha!
Woah... now it’s like 3:15 AM. I have no idea why I don’t feel sleepy when I had to wake up at such an unearthly hour this (well, yesterday) morning.
